Autumn 25th International Watercolor Online Exhibition from November 3 to November 8, 2025 in Japan

Awards
1. "CHAIRMAN'S AWARD".
Premium award (1 work):

• The winner will have the opportunity to take a week-long trip to Sado Island to study painting en plein air (Accommodation and workplace on Sado Island will be provided. However, the participants pay for travel and meals themselves.)
• The right to become a member of the Japan International Watercolor Institute.
• The winner will receive an electronic certificate.

2. Special Awards (10 artworks).
• The winners will have the opportunity to take a week-long trip to Sado Island to practice painting en plein air.(Accommodation and workplace on Sado Island will be provided. However, the participants bear the costs of travel and meals themselves.)
• The right to become a member of the Japan International Watercolor Institute.
• Winners will receive an electronic certificate.

3. The Finalists
• All the winning participants, who will be selected by the Japanese Watercolor Institute, will receive an electronic certificate.

• Those who fail the selection process will have the opportunity to apply in the fall of 2026.

Terms of participation
• Each participant can submit only one work.
• The subject matter is not limited, but the drawings must be water-based and made on paper.
• Computer artworks and drawings made in watercolor for inkjet printing are not allowed to participate.
• As soon as the image of the work is uploaded, the participant must agree to grant the Japan International Watercolor Institute the right to use the image for promotional purposes related to its activities.
• Please note: The selection process will be conducted in digital format, and the original works will not be displayed at the exhibition.

1st deadline: October 1, 2025
2nd deadline: October 15, 2025
3rd deadline: October 30, 2025

Photo of the awork.
• Do not show your forehead in the photo.
• Take a picture in a well-lit place without shadows. (We usually don't adjust the image, but we can make it brighter if it's too dark.)
• After shooting, crop the background outside the illustration.
• When attaching a photo, select the largest size (real or original).
• The file must be in JPG format.

After the payment is completed, please send the payment receipt. Be sure to provide the correct email address for the payment.

Payment
• Please make sure to pay the transaction fee before sending the payment.
• The exhibition fee is charged at the time of submitting the application and is non-refundable, regardless of whether the application is accepted.
• The transfer fee must be paid by the applicant.

Please pay attention:
• If any deficiencies are found in your application, consideration may be postponed.
• Messages are processed in the order they arrive.If you send multiple request messages, your message will be sent later and the announcement of the results may be delayed.
• We will notify all candidates of the selection results, regardless of whether they have been selected. Please check your message carefully. If you have not received a notification, please contact us.

• The finalists will also receive a winner's certificate. We would appreciate it if you shared this information on social media during the exhibition.

The organizer owns the rights to display, publish and promote the finalists' works.This announcement of the competition is legally binding. The watercolor works participating in the online exhibition will be broadcast during the International Watercolor Exhibition at the Sado International Museum, on the official channels and website of the Japan International Watercolor Institute, on YouTube and other platforms.
